The definition of "Black" does not refer to skin colour.

The emphasis is on the common experience and determination of the people of African, African-Caribbean and Asian origin to oppose the effects of racism.

Mentoring is a committed relationship between a competent/experienced person (mentor) who shares knowledge, experience and insights with a less experienced person (mentee). It is a personal but professional relationship based on mutual trust and respect. Confidentiality is a key requirement.

NBPA mentors are paired with the mentees through the NBPA mentoring co-ordinator.

Information is available by downloading the mentoring programme regarding accessing the scheme or becoming a mentor.
